How 8.7 GB was arrived at
4 GB covers the stack at rest, every container the project ships included. 100 users at 30 MB each adds 2.9 GB, giving 6.9 GB. Adding 25% headroom so the machine is not run at its ceiling gives 8.7 GB, and the smallest plan at or above that is the Starter 16 GB with 16 GB.
Disk works the same way: 25 GB to begin with, plus 0.3 GB per user, so 55 GB against the 300 GB the plan includes.
Rails web process plus a Sidekiq worker, PostgreSQL and Redis. The worker is not optional; skipping it silently breaks outbound email and webhooks.

We are not claiming this is the cheapest server on the internet. It is the cheapest one we can honestly quote.
